Current Programs
1.) Needy Family Food Distribution Program:  This special project provides surplus food products to eligible Avoyelles Parish residents to help alleviate hunger.  Commodities include surplus rice, can goods, pudding, raisins, honey, and dry beans that have accumulated in federal warehouses.

2.) Home Energy Assistance Program:  Home energy assistance is provided for eligible households to reduce the burden of home energy costs for residents of Avoyelles Parish.  Residents may receive help once a year.  Payments are made directly to energy suppliers.  Applications are processed at one A. P. A. C., Inc. Administrative Office.

Weatherization:  This program helps to provide insulation to sustain homes, insures them against harsh weather conditions, and reduces the impact of higher fuel costs on low-income families, particularly the elderly and handicapped.  Activities include installing insulation, caulking installing storm windows, weather stripping, and other improvements to conserve energy.

Community Services Block Grant (CSBG):  Funds received as a result of this sub grant may be used only for reasonable costs in support of those activities which are permitted by t he CSBG Act and are included in the approved CSBG State Plan.  These funds may be used to support other programs where other program may be short.  These are federal funds from the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services and administered through the Louisiana Department of Labor.
